Beer For Girls Who Don’t Like Beer
So, your girl is totally hot and extra awesome but she only orders rum and cokes? Next time you’re at the bar, order her one of these beers and see if
- Lindemann’s Lambic Frambroise: A raspberry lambic is the easiest choice. It’s fruity, fizzy and fantastic. She won’t believe it’s a beer.
- Left Hand Milk Stout: Yes, it’s a stout, but it’s a sweet stout. The unfermented sugars counter the roasted stout characters for a sweet finish and will leave her saying “yum!”
- Delirium Tremens: This Belgian Strong Pale Ale has a delicate hop finish with sweet fruit and toasty malt overtones, but you know that. She’ll love it for the high alcohol at a smooth taste and, of course, the pink elephants.
- Three Floyds Dreadnaught IPA: Let’s start her off on IPAs slowly. The Dreadnaught IPA has a tropical aroma and a honey taste that she’ll love. It’ll be a great step towards a Green Flash West Coast IPA.
- Founders Cerise: This very-cherry beer is great for a warm summer day. She’s sure to like it, but if she doesn’t, take a hint from Founders themselves and mix it half and half with lemonade.
- Half Acre Daisy Cutter Pale Ale: Daisy Cutter lives up to the name with floral hops and a citrus taste. It’s sunshine in a bottle. The daisy-decorated bottle makes this a girl-friendly American Pale Ale.
- Goose Island Smooth Oatmeal Stout: Dark and delicious, this Oatmeal Stout tastes a little nutty with lots of chocolate and coffee. It’ll make her feel like a man, but in a sexy way, I promise.
- Surly Brewing Coffee Bender: If your girl likes coffee, then she’ll be all over this. Coffee Bender smells of fresh coffee beans and has an excellent dark chocolate flavor. Get her to drink this American Brown Ale out of the can. She’ll look good.
- New Belgium Fat Tire: A little spicy, a little malty, a little sour, this American Amber Ale is easy to find on the shelves and easy to drink. She’ll feel an immediate kinship if she’s a biker chick.
** I cannot recommend a Witbier because I dislike them all (so far), but Allagash White, Coney Island Albino Python and Two Brothers Monarch have been recommended by others (who dislike me for disliking Witbiers).
